Bohol Historical Sites:
Bohol Blood Compact Site, the true one, is located in Loay town which accurately marks the location of the Sandugo blood compact treaty of friendship between Datu Sikatuna, a native Chieftain, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, representing the King of Spain. We all know what happened later when the so called white friend turned his brown friends to slaves by subjugating them. This blood compact is not really the first "Treaty of Friendship" between Europe and Asia as erroneously claimed by many sources :(

Bohol Blood Compact Site: this is not the true site of the blood compact, the true location, based on historical documents and affirmed by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP, formerly NHI) is in Loay town. This is good for a touristy photo-op though.

ReplyDeleteThe town of Anda in Bohol is not yet as popular as Panglao, but it is more captivating because of its serene white sand beaches. Not crowded yet.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at Alona Beach when we went to Bohol. I forgot the actual name of the resort. The beach is nice on this part of the island.
