Angeles city isn't for the faint of heart. Hopefully you guys also know the dangers in that area. And the current economic situation in Philippines makes it even worse. I recommend a guide for any lone foreigner.
I sent my husband to the Philippines with his colleagues (an older Fillipino couple) and my husband ended up spending three weeks with a hooker who worked with the narra swagman hotel. I paid the "bar fine". Of course, my husband didn't tell me till he got home. I am now separated and getting a divorce. The effect these women have spreads all over the world. I had to get tested for communicable diseases, etc. Plus, he spent every cent I had. I am now 60, broke and alone.
Stay away from a bar called Bar Hoppin, they tried to scam me and my friends by buy one get one free on the drinks and before I drank anything I checked the bill and they had billed us both for the free drink also so I said no thanks you got the bill wrong and they boarded up the front door and refused to let us leave!! so do not go into this bar no matter what you do......... in the end after I had already agreed to pay for the drink i had not touched and refused to pay for the free one they had charged me the manager who happened to be english and should be ashamed of him self came over and said its ok you can leave as he knew we would of stayed there all night if need be he is a scammer of the worst kind and before anyone comments It was my second beer of the night so no not drunk. I went out and complained to the local police but its angeles city and the police do nothing so corrupt there they are.
